Australian General Practice is recognised as being one of the best primary care systems in the world and Australian GPs have established a tradition of significant involvement in WONCA. The RACGP, who is the peak professional and standard setting body for Australian GPs, will conduct this program.

This comprehensive one week program is facilitated by experienced Australian General Practitioners with skills in medical education and GP supervision. It covers the Australian Heath System, the unique nature and history of Australian General Practice, and General Practice training and employment in Australia. It aims to give an overview of how primary care is delivered in Australia, how GPs are trained and standards are maintained.

The program includes a combination of fully interpreted educational sessions, visits to health services and clinics and social activities. The program for Medical Students may vary to include visits with Australian Medical Students at University clinics. Educational resources will be available for sale. Numbers are kept small to optimise the experience.
